OEOP shares expertise in designing and implementing online academic programs

In response to an increased need for in-person academic enrichment programs to transition online due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the OEOP shared its almost 10-year experience offering virtual programming to rising high-school seniors.

During a 75-minute webinar, OEOP Executive Director Eboney Hearn, Manager of Programs Reimi Hicks, and MOSTEC Program Administrator Annie Grant shared the evolution and learnings of the MIT Online Science, Technology and Engineering Community (MOSTEC) program. MOSTEC is a 6-month program focused on STEM enrichment, career exploration, college admissions preparation and community building. The presentation included strategies to build inclusive and respectful communities online, increase and assess student engagement, design engaging and hands-on curricula for a virtual environment, and best practices to transition in-person programs to the online space.
