From “Nuclear energy is coming to a city near you. Here’s what you need to know about it” to “Wait, there’s trash in space?” to “Increased diabetes in Latinos: genetic influence or structural racism,” — you are in for an eye-opening ride!
The annual Best of Science Writing publication is a collection of the top student articles from the MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science (MITES) Semester 2022 Science Writing and Communication course. In this intensive, five-week online course, modeled on graduate programs, students conducted research and interview a scientist or professional in a STEM field. By the end of the course, each student produces a professional-caliber, publishable article on a STEM topic of their choice. This year’s compilation includes articles on nuclear energy, cybersecurity, genetics, microrobots, and many more.
