AIM is an intensive academic experience during which students will attend classes in Calculus, Chemistry, Engineering Physics and work in groups on a specific Case Study. BioBuilder-Apprenticeship Challenge
The High School Apprenticeship Challenge is an eight-week program held from mid-March through May that prepares Boston-area juniors and seniors for a paid internship in the life sciences. The Apprenticeship focuses on building technical knowledge, lab techniques, research-based thinking and professional skills.

Boston Architectural College: Summer Academy
High School Design Exploration: design, model making, drawing, photography. Summer Academy explores the fields of architecture and spatial design. There is a tuition fee, but scholarships are available.

Boston University RISE-Research in Science and Engineering
Students who are passionate about the sciences and currently in their junior year of high school are invited to apply for the Research in Science & Engineering (RISE) program. Spend six weeks conducting university laboratory research with some of the nation’s brightest scientific minds while advancing your STEM knowledge and skills. RISE is open to both commuter and residential students and provides two research tracks: Internship and Practicum. Students can either commute or live on campus.

Crimson Summer at Harvard University
Over the course of three consecutive summers, 30 students from public schools in Boston, Cambridge and Somerville engage in a stimulating mix of classes, projects, and cultural activities as they prepare for success in college and beyond. Students live on campus during the week and return home on the weekends. The program is free and students receive a stipend. Upon completing the 3 year program, students receive a $3,000 scholarship.

Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Programs-Explorers
Pre-K through 3rd Grade classes build a strong foundation so that our youngest future leaders are equipped to explore the world and its possibilities. Explorer classes are held on 8 Saturdays in the Spring semester (February through April) and in the Fall (September through November). Explorer topics include: astronomy, biology, hydrology, earth & natural science, physics, engineering (chemical, electrical, and mechanical), and technology. Emagination’s MA Summer Camps at Boston College for ages 8-17 include Computer Camp, Minecraft Coding Camp, Game Design Camp. Located in MA at Bentley University.

Empow Studios
Empow Studios is open to children who have completed grades 1 to 8 at the time of the session. Empow runs two types of camps: Tech & Design Camps and Minecraft Camps. Tech & Design camps feature robotics, 2D & 3D video game design, virtual reality (VR) game design, animation, programming / coding, 3D modeling & printing, audio engineering, and music production. Minecraft camps feature modding, electrical engineering (via redstone circuits), architecture, game design, and world creation.

The Environmental Science Program is open to students who will be entering grades 7, 8, 9, or 10 by September 2016. The Environmental Science program combines fun outdoor activities with learning about the environment. Each year it builds on the “peer education” principle by having the student leaders design, develop, and deliver the materials that the students use.

HMS MEDScience Summer is a one-week summer science course for high school students held at Harvard Medical School. Work a week-long shift in the MEDscience ‘Emergency Room’ at Harvard Medical School. THINK is a science, research, and innovation program for high school students. Rather than requiring students to have completed a research project before applying, THINK caters to students who have done extensive research on the background of a potential research project and are looking for additional guidance in the early stages of their project. The program is organized by a group of undergraduates at MIT. For US residents, citizenship not required, but students need to live in the US. Students are funded up to $1,000 for their research.

UMass Boston – Noble & Greenough Math and Science Upward Bound
The UMass Boston-Noble and Greenough School Upward Bound Math-Science Program (UBMS) is year-round program, serving 72 high school students with promising academic records and a desire to improve their future prospects. UBMS specifically identifies students interested in math and science who wish to pursue advanced study and careers in related fields. Our students come from Lawrence, Massachusetts, primarily from Lawrence High School. In addition to meeting family income and educational qualifications, candidates must demonstrate the potential to succeed in an accelerated math/science program, as well as the ability and desire to work hard.

Upward Bound is an intensive, year-round college-preparatory program. Our mission is to assist low-income, first-generation college bound high school students in the successful completion of secondary education and prepare them academically and socially for enrollment and completion of higher education. This is accomplished by providing participants with rigorous and nurturing academic courses; tutoring services; college-preparatory workshops; academic, college, and financial aid advising; career exploration; leadership opportunities; and cultural enrichment. Upward Bound offers services to students through an after-school program and monthly cohort meetings at UMass Boston during the school year and a six-week residential academic program at Anna Maria College during the summer.

UNAGB’s Summer Institute in Global Leadership
The United Nations Association of Greater Boston’s Summer Institute in Global Leadership brings international issues to life for teens in the Greater Boston area. Facilitated at locations such as Harvard University, Belmont Day School, and Simmons University, students hear from experts in the field, receive training from professional negotiators, and end the week with a Model UN simulation. Each week, students are introduced to a challenging global problem relevant to the world today, such as climate change, human rights, or global health. As they uncover facts, hear from influential guest speakers, and discover unique perspectives on the problem, students emulate the role of civic leaders eager to make the world a better place. By the end of the week, students have become experts on the issue and are ready to develop solutions. Using Model UN as a platform for debate, students step into the role of international leaders from different nations to negotiate solutions to be voted on. Programs are open to students from grades 5 through 12, depending on the program week. This event is not owned, controlled, supervised, or sponsored by Harvard University or any of its schools or programs.
