Stefana Dunn

Learning and Curriculum Administrator

Stefana has been with MITES since 2015, working as an instructor for all three programs and as a Curriculum & Instructional Support Specialist. She also participated in the revamp of the AMS programs for MITES Saturdays. In 2024, Stefana became the Learning and Curriculum Administrator for the MITES programs.

In this role, Stefana supports instructors with designing inquiry-based curriculum and coaches the instructional staff on incorporating innovative instructional techniques into their teaching practice. Stefana is especially passionate about access, diversity, and inclusion in STEM fields. Specifically, she is interested in supporting instructors with translating student-centered curriculum into dynamic learning with the hopes of increasing engagement in STEM and making the experience accessible for all learners.

Prior to joining MITES, Stefana taught high school biology for nearly a decade and also brings several years of Edtech experience to this role. In addition, she has 5 years of research experience in neuroscience and helped to coordinate the STEM mentoring experience, a legacy program of the MITES office. Stefana also served as the Lead Academic Advisor for another legacy program, STEM.

Stefana holds a Bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College in psychobiology and German, and a Master’s degree in Neuroscience from Brown University. In addition, Stefana also holds a certification in secondary education biology from the Massachusetts Department of Education.

Stefana enjoys traveling and has been to over 25 countries.
